In Spain, writing new material. Words from the sunshine!
Charles Aznavour’s infamous refrain in Emmenez-moi (Take me away!) says:
Il me semble que la misère serait moins pénible au soleil;
in English: Seems to me, the drudgery, should be less painful in the sun.
And so it is. It is!
Songs infused with sunshine, a glass of fresh orange juice daily, after a coffee and rolled cigarette, watching the palms sway in the wind and the lustrous blue Mediterranean in the background.
That’s how I start my mornings. I take out my journal and let the pages drink up the ink.
